Research and development is a central component of our work at the Rail Safety Campus. We carry out practical investigations, tests and
simulations on all aspects of rail safety in our state-of-the-art laboratory. We are currently expanding this laboratory in order to create even
better conditions for innovative projects and technological developments.

We are actively involved in research projects in collaboration with universities and
universities. We maintain particularly close partnerships with the Hamburg University of Applied
Sciences (HAW), the Aachen University of Applied Sciences and the Technical University of Braunschweig.
Together, we are working on future-oriented topics such as digitalization in rail operations,
safety-related human-machine interactions and new technologies for
rail transport.
We also offer students the opportunity to write their Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis at our
campus – with a practical orientation, supervised by experienced experts and in direct contact with
in the industry.
